Selected Honors & Awards

Illinois Psychiatric Society | Chicago, IL | 2025

Awarded for outstanding community service in the aftermath of the Chatham YNOT tragedy — a devastating mass casualty event in which five children were killed when a vehicle crashed into a daycare building. Dr. Taneja provided direct mental health support to the parents and children affected, and her work in the wake of this tragedy led to the initiation of the region's first comprehensive trauma-informed crisis response system — a pilot program integrating rapid intervention with long-term healing support in response to community-wide trauma.

American Association of Directors of Psychiatric Residency Training | Austin, TX | 2024

Awarded for developing an Integrative Psychiatry Elective Program for Residents and Medical Students — one of the field's most recognized honors for IMG physicians advancing psychiatric education and integrative care.

Southern Illinois University School of Medicine | Springfield, IL | 2024

Awarded for exceptional therapeutic care during psychiatric residency — recognized for the transformative impact of treatment and for integrating holistic, novel approaches that patients described as uniquely effective and unlike any care they had previously received.
